I spent mothers day in my car wishing I had taken the train. It was Sunday and the 99 mile drive took me over 2 hours down I-95 south. The sad thing is that I would have taken the quick train ride from Philadelphia to Baltimore BUT Amtrak charges $212 for a round trip ticket! It really makes no sense since I often take the $90 round trip fare to downtown Manhattan.
When I picked up my credentials, dropped off my roller bag in the media room, and walked onto the field there were all these pink bats strung around the batting cage and most of the players were wearing pink arm bands. So, I tried to be creative on a couple shots as I knew these photos weren’t going to be used except in Monday’s newspaper. Well, maybe Marie Claire will pick up one of the photos…
I would like to say the Camden Yards has some really friendly staff and a pretty damn good popcorn machine for the press. I’m not too happy with my shots. The shot of Jeter’s back is pretty neat, but I had a much nicer one of him facing me. There were just heavy shadows from his hat over his face since I was about two feet from him. I knew I needed some fill flash, but I really don’t want to risk pissing off an All-Star just before he bats.
