USF1 Press Conference at Speed TV in Charlotte, NC

I just moved from Charlotte and what do you know. I get an assignment for F1.com and  I find myself on an airplane back to Charlotte to photograph the United States Formula 1(USF1) press conference.  The announcement was  held at thew newly opened Speed TV headquarters on W.T. Harris Blvd in the University Area of Charlotte.  For more information about the newly formed racing team, visit F1.com’s article here.

The team will shortly be making an announcement where their headquarters will be, but for the record it will be somewhere in the vicinity of Charlotte.  They have also changed their name to United States Grand Prix Engineering(USGPE) until they qualify for all the proper licensening.  Their website isn’t online yet, but its at USGPE.com

Backstage with Luca Luca

I did a quick google search for images from the 1930s of Coco Chanel and how her fashion presentations went about, but I didn’t have any luck with my five minutes of trying.  I can only imagine they were quite similar to how Luca Orlandi of Luca Luca displayed his 2009 Fall Collection in the grand Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel. Sorry, I didn’t bring my tripod to take any photos, but a quick search online will point you in the right direction about the Palm Court and their famed Mid-Afternoon Tea Service.

As for backstage, makeup was provided by MAC Cosmetics and hair styling was provided by celebrity hair stylist Edward Tricomi, seen in the 2nd to the last photo,  who runs the salon at The Plaza Hotel with business partner Joel Warren. As for the models, I didn’t catch any names except for Clara Alonso of Next Models.  She is in the last two photos and was the nicest and most beautiful model I had the pleasure of meeting during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Barbie Fashion Runway Show

First off, its been so long since I’ve updated that it took me six attempts to figure out my login information :]  I need to figure out a better workflow to send photos to the editor, then to water/resize them for my blog/flickr/facebook and I think that’s about it.  If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Well, here is a huge change from my last post.  As stated, I’ve moved to the Philadelphia area and one of the reasons was to do work out of New York City and my second assignment after the Indoor Track & Field Millrose Games at Madison Garden was the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Bryant Park in mid-town New York City.  I will be updating a few more shows over the next week or two, but this was one of my favorites and my best shots of the week with the great lighting and pink runway.  Enjoy!
