Cross Country: Greensboro Invitational

Well, the rains held off and congratulations to the 2500+ runners that finished the courses. Full results of the meet are available here and more photos are available at http://photos.bridow.com. Please note the images on my prints-for-sale page are reduced in size and quality 85%. So, they will appear darker and less colorful than they actually are.
The next event I will be covering is the Wendy’s Invitation on October 4th in Charlotte, NC. Please contact me if your team/runners need coverage. :]]

Football: Independence HS vs. Zebulon B. Vance HS

How quickly a week flies by! I wasn’t feeling so good Friday morning. So, I wasn’t expecting to shoot any football that night, but I decided to get my butt out to the field. Needless to say, I didn’t charge the battery pack for my flash. So, much like Vance, it started out strong, but quickly declined in performance and was barely alive in the 4th quarter.
I will say Vance put up the good fight for the first quarter and a half hold IHS out of the endzone, but in the end Independence dominated with a swarming defensive line and bad play calling by Vance. Just a hint, when you are being dominated on the line do not call slow developing-misdirection handoffs or play action passes For more photos of the game, please visit my Online Prints link at the top of the page.
Cross Country: Bojangle’s Invitational

This was the second cross country meet of the year for most and the first for myself. The competition was thin as the top runners in each group handedly won on the soggy course. Pictured below are the winners from the collegiate and high school level.

Football: Mallard Creek HS vs Myers Park HS

While everyone craves the summer months of no school and sunshine, I always look forward to the fall. ie. Football season. Ok, well its still summer technically at it was 80 degrees at the game, but you get the point. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday = Football, Football, Football, Football, and more Football.
Mallard Creek dominated via the run game and some amazing scrambling by QB #12 Marquise Williams with the help of a stellar run defense holding MPHS to under 50 yards. During the game, I was thinking what small local college had he committed too. Then I looked at the roster sheet to find out the 6′3 205 QB was just a sophomore. Wow! If he keeps up the dedication and continues to improve, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the ACC/SEC in a few years.
